You Can Make A Difference

Although we are a Christian country, we have seen that many people position themselves alongside God as if they were someone to withhold or administer grace to others. However, at ERI we believe that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore our human dignity does not come from our human acts, but instead from our Creator. Since our dignity is granted by God, no act we perform will remove that right to be treated with dignity.

At ERI, we are guided by a foundation of faith, and we believe each person has a purpose that comes from our Creator. This means we also believe that the best form of rehabilitation is to help currently and formerly incarcerated individuals to understand their worth and discover their purpose in God. We believe the only way to achieve a permanent change of heart – and therefore a change of values and lifestyle – is through God.

How Can I Get Involved?

ERI is always looking to welcome like-minded individuals into our family. There are many ways to support our vision and contribute to our mission. While financial donations are always needed and very appreciated, we understand that not everyone is able to donate money.

However, there are several other ways people can help out. We love building partnerships with individuals and businesses, and because we are caring for those less fortunate than ourselves, we are grateful for any and all donations – clothing, furniture, groceries, gardening equipment, bed linens – you name it.

The people who come to us have nothing, and we provide every brother with a cellphone, toiletries, clothing, etc., so they can begin their new life. We especially appreciate donations of old technology such as cellphones and computers. Older models are more appropriate for our community because most people have very little experience with technology.

What Else Can I Do?

We also believe it is important to hold workshops and study sessions with our program participants, such as cooking classes, book groups, financial information sessions and so forth. If there are any life skills or hobbies you would like to share with our community, please get in touch.

Often what we take for granted in our everyday lives are things that our brothers have never experienced. If you are unsure whether or not your idea is suitable, please reach out and we can talk it through – we love to think outside the box and get creative.
